Following the closure of its Iusacell purchase last weekend, AT&T has announced that its World Connect Value add-on for Mobile Share Value and Wireless Home Phone service customers will now feature unlimited calls to Mexico for both mobile and land line numbers. Customers who already subscribe to the World Connect Value plan will automatically receive the free calling feature.
AT&T’s Iusacell purchase includes 9.2 million subscribers and the current network covers about 70% of Mexico’s population of 120 million with the majority of coverage focused around southern Mexico and Mexico City. AT&T acquired the subscribers, spectrum licenses, network assets, and retail operations for both Iusacell and sibling brand Unefon which also includes independent dealer contracts as well as corporate locations.
