Earlier today, Apple released its latest iOS update for all of its attendant devices in iOS 5.1.1. The update addresses issues with AirPlay streaming, and it also resolves recent issues with LTE equipped new iPads using Verizon’s network that only became apparent within the last two weeks if attempting to use an LTE SIM as per our previous guide and were exacerbated with Apple’s last carrier settings update released last month. Along with the aforementioned fix the update features the following fixes:
Improved reliability when using the HDR camera mode, fixed 2G-to-3G hand-off issues in the iPad, improved AirPlay video playback, more reliable Safari bookmark sync and fixes the purchasing bug in the App Store.
The update has also been jailbroken as per the usual suspects, but it’s currently unclear whether it will be publicly released, as Apple is expected to announce and seed iOS 6 to developers at this year’s WWDC.
