    I personally disagree with PC World’s take, nobody really knows for sure why this data is collected (and there probably are numerous potential reasons). And yes, Apple should offer a simple opt-out. It’s good for them and it’s good for the consumer to be able to do so.

    It sure does not help building trust, APPLE should respond not in time but quickly, before the FCC gets involved in investigating this matter.
    APPLE however, unlike SAMSUNG (recent hidden keystroke software scare), prefers to ignore matters, until they become a broader known issue, an expensive PR policy, one, that deep pocketed APPLE, seems to have no issue affording to pay for.
