AMD has announced that it will support Nokia and Intel’s MeeGo mobile Linux platform as a new member and will also take a seat on the board of directors. The goal of the support announcement according to the chipmaker is to lend support for the merged mobile Linux platform which began life as Maemo Linux, with Nokia and Intel entering into an agreement last year that would merge both it and Intel’s Moblin, which had yet to be released outside of internal testing when the MeeGo initiative was first announced.
