Nobody has seen exactly how many/few phones Alcatel Mobile has been selling in the United States, but Sears representatives we talk to say that the phones have been collecting dust for the better part of a year now.
While more popular overseas, Alcatel Mobile really has not gotten traction in the United States, however it appears they may be at it again. This time, in the mobile broadband business. We couldn’t get anyone to comment if the aircard below will ever ship… state-side that is. However, that’s likely because two years ago they said to us they were a lock to get a major carrier release… something that they have failed completely at achieving so far.
The aircard does appear to be a UMTS/HSPA unit, with a trendy flattened USB connector.
