Update: Actually, at the bottom of the brochure, they are listing the unlimited plan, it is $24.99 a month. However these plans lack all text messaging and MMS options. This raises the price of a comparable plan (to the older MEdia Works) to $45.
As of 2/13, Cingular will change their MEdia Works plan to no longer have unlimited internet access. Instead, the plan will remain at $19.99 a month and only have 3 MB of data.
While we didn’t report on this, expecting a newer MEdia Works option at a slightly higher price, such an offering hasn’t been announced, and within two days of the changes taking place, it is unlikely to happen within that timeframe, if in the immediate future. It is unknown if similar action will be taken with AT&T Wireless’ mMode Unlimited plan, though no such change has been announced internally.
The bottom line though is clear: If you want unlimited data targeted to consumers on Cingular, you have less than 48 hours to get it. After that, mMode Unlimited will be their only offering (requiring a migration to a Blue plan and device).
