Sony Ericsson has recently announced that their Corporate Vice President and Head of Marketing, Dee Dutta, has decided to leave the company at the end of March.
After joining the company in 2002, he was made the Head of Marketing in 2003 and has held that position since. It was during his time as the Head of Marketing that Sony Ericsson had achieved the number two spot in Brand Purchase Consideration which was made possible by his reorganization of the marketing structure within the company and through various sponsorships in the world of tennis, particularly of the Women’s Tennis Association Tour. This resulted in Miami’s Sony Ericsson Open and landed Maria Sharapova as the first global brand ambassador for the company sparking a global recognition for the Sony Ericsson brand.
No replacement has been announced as of yet. Mr. Dutta’s last day at Sony Ericsson is the 31st of March.
