T-Mobile has announced the expansion of its “Wideband LTE” 700Mhz overlay. The newest additions include New York City, Long Island, and northern New Jersey while central New Jersey and Westchester County, N.Y., will have Wideband LTE coverage very soon. According to T-Mobile, customers in New York City are reporting peak download speeds of 100Mbps with average download speeds around 22Mbps. T-Mobile is using 700MHz spectrum to augment its LTE coverage alongside its existing AWS spectrum. T-Mobile is marketing the paired spectrum as Wideband LTE.
