After months of rumors, including leaks of certain devices with the new branding, Microsoft has officially announced that future Lumia smartphones will be branded as Microsoft Lumia smartphones.
Microsoft will also rebrand many other aspects of the Nokia Devices division, such as the online presence and application suite to Microsoft branding, much of which is already underway. The last smartphones announced to feature the Nokia brand are the Lumia 830 and Lumia 735 Windows Phones, which were announced in September and future smartphones with Microsoft Lumia branding will be announced soon.
While Microsoft smartphones will no longer feature the Nokia brand, Microsoft has also confirmed that it has retained a long-term license to the Nokia brand for entry-level feature phone releases in emerging markets, with the latest phone in that line being the Nokia 130.
