T-Mobile Adds Simple Starter Plans To Prepaid, Continues Penny SIM Sale

By Humberto Saabedra on September 5, 2014

T-Mobile has quietly added the Simple Starter plan to its prepaid service, which will let prepaid customers that want to ease into T-Mobile service the option of paying either $40 or $45 monthly for service without worrying about data overages, as both plans feature a hard data cap at 500MB and 2GB respectively before needing to purchase additional data passes.

T-Mobile prepaid Simple StarterThe plans otherwise feature some key features from the Simple Choice plans such as Music Unlimited support, HotSpot access and international text messaging. Curiously, the $45 plan features an additional 1GB of monthly data compared to the standard $50 prepaid plan, though currently neither of the Simple Starter plans are formally listed on T-Mobile’s prepaid slate – they must be chosen during initial activation of either a new device or new SIM card.

In related news, T-Mobile has extended its popular penny SIM sale until September 10th with the coupon code SIMDEAL. The kits, which include a SIM and an activation code, are available in regular, mini/micro combo and nano sizes. Mobile broadband SIMs for tablets and other hardware in the aforementioned sizes are also on sale under the limit of 3 SIMs per order and a 5 SIM order limit per household over a period of 30 days.
