Sony Mobile has announced its latest mid-range dual-SIM device meant for select international markets and this one is meant for a particular kind of user in the selfie-focused in the Xperia C3.The Xperia C3 features a quad-core Snapdragon processor at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM and 8 gigabytes of internal storage with a microSD slot.
It also features a 5.5-inch Triluminos display at a resolution of 1280×720 pixels with a pixel density of 267 ppi. The phone also has an 8-megapixel Sony Exmor RS sensor on the back, which features autofocus and is capable of shooting 1080p video. The front-facing camera of the Xperia C3 is a rare 5-megapixel unit with an LED flash and autofocus. Its wide-angle front camera also features an extra wide 80-degree field of view and is paired with a “soft” LED flash that will automatically adjust certain aspects of the image in accordance with the ambient lighting through its Superior Auto software mode.
Users can also place two SIM cards in their device, wile a 2,500mAh battery will power the phone. The smartphone will be running Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box with future updates dependent on region. The phone will launch first in China with other markets to be determined. With the release of the C3, this means that Sony Mobile has beaten HTC to the announcement and pending release of a selfie-focused smartphone, as HTC has long been rumored to have such a phone in development with AT&T, but has not made any official announcements regarding the phone.
