After first announcing that both companies would be releasing the phone earlier this year during the Microsoft BUILD conference, both MetroPCS and T-Mobile have detailed release plans for the replacement for the long in the tooth Lumia 521 in the Lumia 635 Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone.
The Lumia 635 will first be available to T-Mobile’s prepaid customers starting July 5 via the Home Shopping Network and will then offer the 635 beginning July 9 on T-Mobile’s own prepaid online portal, followed by T-Mobile retail stores on July 16. The Lumia 635 will reach MetroPCS’ web site and select stores on July 18. T-Mobile customers can purchase the Nokia Lumia 635 for $0 down and payments of $7 per month for 24 months with a Simple Choice plan while MetroPCS customers can purchase the device for a promotional price of $99.
More specifically, the phone features a 4.5-inch screen, quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 5-megapixel camera and 4G LTE support with a 5MP rear camera with autofocus with Nokia Camera, Cinemagraph and Nokia Storyteller along with Nokia Creative Studio and a Gorilla Glass 3 fronted display with the exclusive ClearBlack display technology for maximum color fidelity and visibility.
