Nokia has officially unveiled the N96, the successor to the N95 multimedia oriented smart device.
The N96 features a 2.8 inch QVGA display, quadband GSM with single-band W-CDMA with another version planned for the US, 16GB flash memory with an additional microSD slot that supports up to 8GB microSD cards, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi radio, aGPS support with built-in Maps 2.0 client, 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and 30 fps video recording, and context sensitive music controls that disappear when not in use around the directional pad.
The phone is expected around September of this year in Europe for a price close to $800 with no specific availability details available for the US version.
