Following up on this week’s reveal of Windows Phone 8.1 features from the first version of the SDK, more features and tweaks have been revealed, these being less important in terms of updates, but just as important in terms of scope. - JavaScript and HTML for app development
- Rebranding of SkyDrive to OneDrive
- Support for Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
- Swipe down to close apps in multitasking view
- Back button no longer closes apps, instead it suspends them
- Separate volume controls for ringtones/notifications and music/media
- Navigation bar
- Dedicated Bing app for podcasts
- Mirror and project via wireless display or USB-out. Miracast support
- New weekly calendar view
- Battery Power Sense – app to monitor which apps draw the most power
- Upload files through Internet Explorer 11
- Mouse and keyboard support

- New messaging functionality, Password management for IE, and Storage selection options for games and apps

More features still have yet to be revealed ahead of the expected release of the update in April.
