After weeks of leaks, Google has formally launched the long-awaited Nexus 5 on the Play Store. The phone is currently available for immediate purchase with shipping for $349.99 if buying the 16GB version and $399.99 for the 32GB version. The phone features support for AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint LTE networks, however the phone will not be launched in a Verizon-compatible version.
As previously reported, the phone features the following specifications:

- 16GB/32 GB internal storage depending on model
- 2GB RAM
- Snapdragon 800 at 2.3GHz
- 8MP rear camera with optical image stabilization, 1.3MP front camera
- 2300mAh battery
- Sensors: Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Proximity/Ambient Light, Pressure
- Micro SIM slot
- Notification light
- Wireless charging
- NFC
- LTE
The phone will launch via Sprint and T-Mobile locations for $149.99 under their respective service agreements, while the phone will also be available unlocked outside of the Play Store via Amazon. Best Buy and Radio Shack.
The battery size is disappointing.
You were not a fan of the Nexus 4, judging by the specs, what do you think.
I, for one, like the Nexus 5 but I dislike 5-inch phones due to the palm interference with use.
My biggest complaint is that Google hasn’t submitted N5 to Verizon for certification on their CDMA network and Band 4 LTE networks – it could use them and Verizon has said they would accept it via their open device certification.
Really, I was hoping that the Nexus 4 would have gotten a second-generation and continued alongside Nexus 5 but with N5’s improvements.
