Another vulnerability has been discovered by security firm Skycure that targets iOS and allows hackers to redirect app requests for web access when connected via the same Wi-Fi network with a web-based exploit.
The exploit would also allow for the delivery and execution of malware on the compromised iOS device via the hijacked app. In order to address this vulnerability until Apple releases an update that patches the vulnerability system-wide, Skycure has released code for app developers which disallows redirection caching, and subsequently fixes the issue on a per app basis for developers that deploy the fix in their apps.
Until the vulnerability is officially addressed, Skycure also suggests those that may have been affected to uninstall affected apps, though they also stress that this may affect more than iOS and its applications which is leading it to request more feedback. Below, a video of the exploit and vulnerability in action.
