We’re kicking off a new weekly segment, looking at some of the highlights of the week from our Phone Encyclopedia, currently in beta…
First, our award-winning Firmware Tracker has grown… grown to the point that we’ve had to break it up into a few pages. The Firmware Tracker can still be found in the same place, but now it has a quick selector to access your carrier’s updates.
We’re also adding more and more firmware updates for your downloading pleasure. We’ve added gigabytes (yes, gigabytes) of firmware updates for Motorola and HTC devices, and we’re not stooping there. We have gigabytes more to add in the coming weeks. If you can update the phone yourself, you should be able to… that’s our story, and we’re sticking to it.
Also, one of our main goals, adding specifications and resources to all phones is continuing. We’re going by the oldest phones first, so we apologize if the newest phones are a bit… devoid of information right now. We’re working on it.
And, of course, remember that you can add just about anything to the Encyclopedia yourself. Almost every page has an Edit button at the bottom of the page, and with a quick (free) registration, you can contribute your own tips, tricks, and downloads.
