AT&T has announced the previously T-Mobile exclusive Nokia Lumia 521 as the original Lumia 520 model for the GoPhone prepaid service. The phone is best known for being the lowest cost Windows Phone 8 device available and features a 4-inch screen, 8GB of storage with microSD slot, and a 5-megapixel camera with no LTE support. Reflecting its status as the lowest cost entry-level Windows Phone 8 device, the phone will be sold by AT&T for just $99, undercutting T-Mobile’s Lumia 521 by $40. The phone will be available on July 26th.
In related news, AT&T has added new Mobile Share plans with a 300MB data option for $20 per month and a 2GB monthly option to bridge the gap between its current 1GB and 4GB plans. The 2GB plan costs $50 per month and the plans are now slotted as such below.
I’ll probably order one to use with my current GoPhone 10 cents per minute plan. I am using an HTC Inspire right now. I don’t need minutes or data and just mainly use texting and wi-fi.
