Following its acquisition by America Movil earlier this year, Page Plus has announced positive changes to two of its service plans in the Talk n Text $29.95 plan, which will be increased from 250mb of data to 500mb of data per month, as of mid-July with no specific rollout date provided. The Unlimited Talk n Text $39.95 plan will also have its monthly data increased from 200mb of data to 500mb of data as of mid-August, again without a specific roll out date.
That Page Plus is increasing data allotments on two of its lower level service plans so soon after being acquired calls into question the resoundingly negative reaction to the acquisition as of late, with many long-time Page Plus subscribers defecting to other Verizon-powered MVNOs or even filing a petition for the White House to block the acquisition based on competitive grounds. While no real plans have surfaced in regards to the direction of the provider post-acquisition, the positive changes to the above plans at least signal that things will remain as they are for the foreseeable future, even after the acquisition closes.
