Newegg is offering the ASUS PCE-N15 PCI Express 802.11n Wi-Fi card for $9.99. Ground shipping on this card is free.
The card supports most modern Wi-Fi technologies, and includes WPS for easy pairing with WPS-enabled routers. The dual-antennas on this card are rather rare for PCI Express desktop cards, and it is one of the lowest prices we expect to see this season for such a card.
The N15 is also a great option for those with Desktops that have poor Wi-Fi reception, or get slow speeds at a distance. While you aren’t likely to see ASUS”s 300 Mbps advertised speed, MIMO on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz should ensure better connectivity than what most desktops with Wi-Fi include.
The card uses a RealTek RTL8188CE chipset. While that works fine in most versions of Windows (including Windows 7 & 8), it is unclear how latest versions of Linux handle the chipset. We don’t have one in the labs to test with, and some users report connectivity issues with Kernel 3.0+ Linux installs.
