    Do you think you could get a year or more of usage out of these, or will they switch to LTE soon?

    Absolutely. Clearwire is not just providing CLEAR 4G and Sprint 4G WiMAX, but the new vanguard of Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile devices… in addition to new WISP MVNOs such as NetZero.

    There is no way that the Sprint Prepaid Group would be selling $250 to $350 devices that would fall apart a year from now in terms of network access. That would antagonize customers completely.

    We foresee Clearwire maintaining most of the WiMAX footprint for at least the next 36 months, probably longer. After that they will probably begin to swap spectrum over to LTE in waves, similar to the rebanding of 2G networks today.
