Another in-the-middle of CES deal for our readers. Lenovo is celebrating CES by offering their fire-sale grade with-coupon pricing… but no coupon required.
These Lenovo USB-powered laptop speakers are something we recently added to our own CES gear checklist. Unlike poorer-quality speakers, these draw power from a single USB port, but also provide a 3.5mm jack, so you can power them with your laptop, but also plug them into another device, like an PMP or tablet nearby. You can even use them with a USB-to-AC adapter, or a USB portable power pack, and go laptop-less.
We use them with a tablet playing Hulu Plus and TuneIn Radio Pro, so we can watch TV and cover CES without the performance hit (either on bandwidth or our CPUs). They are reminiscent in design to the Apple Pro Speakers of the early 2000s. Unfortunately, those speakers used a proprietary connector… thankfully, Lenovo thought different on that matter.
While we have seen them for a $1.50 lower in the past, this is still a great price for them, usually selling for $29.99 shipped. And, they’re estimated to ship before CES is over and done with, in case they aren’t already in your CES gear (or even if you don’t go to CES at all).
In terms of performance, the oddly-named 57Y6360 is not going to match your $99 Bose speakers you got on that Black Friday deal, but they are great for traveling around, no need for an AC adapter, and great performance that can be heard well across a room.
Where is a link?
We were having issues with the links yesterday, the easiest way to find it was to pull up Lenovo.com and type in the item number. Still, we should have noted that in the article.
We’ve also gone back and added a working link to the article.
Yea, I had to dig in and do it the old fashion way…Google! Got conformation a minute ago. Thanks, new laptop with really bad speakers. Some Youtubes I can clearly hear, but some I can’t. Why people don’t listen to what they post is beyond me!
