We’re making some major changes to PhoneNews.com.
It’s been a big comeback year for us. We’ve survived seismic shifts in how search engines play favorites, and we’ve also rolled out a great new look-and-feel for PhoneNews.com. But, we feel some more, major changes are needed.
The most major change we’ll be making will be our focus on PhoneNews.com. The industry has changed a lot in the LTE era, and it’s going to keep changing. Really, what is a “phone” will change dramatically. We’ve been watching our competitors wrangle around with this topic, and we’ve been pondering it as well.
Over the next couple of months, we’re going to expand coverage gradually, with the goal to more broadly cover tech. This is experimental, we make no bones about that. By strengthening the coverage and content that PhoneNews.com covers, we’re also going to be working on reinvesting in the technology that PhoneNews.com uses to deliver news to you.
Eventually, our long-term goal is to make PhoneNews.com the place for you to get all your news, on your phone, and on all your devices. A large part of that will be major reinvestments in the mobile, tablet, and feed versions of PhoneNews.com as well.
Major changes like this cannot happen in a day, a week, or even a month. We feel that it is better for our current readership to be aware of these changes, and implement them gradually, rather than do it all at once with a major shift. We’re not Nokia, and we don’t even feel that would be the right way to do it if we were Nokia. But, like other companies, we feel this is the year to turn things around and make major changes.
We think some of the changes we’ve made this year have been well-received, and we’re going to be working hard on implementing more of those changes in the near future.
