HP has released another incremental update for the TouchPad in version 3.0.4. It is now available from the System Updates app in the TouchPad’s app drawer.
The most notable new feature in this version is the inclusion of a basic camera app for the front facing camera with video and still capture.
Also included is pairing non-webOS phones to the TouchPad, so you can answer calls on your TouchPad from non-webOS devices, using the TouchPad as a giant speakerphone. This feature still will not function on devices prior to webOS 2.1, as it lacks the necessary Bluetooth profiles to relay phone calls in this manner.
The update also makes several other improvements. Bluetooth keyboards has also been streamlined. Support for OGG Vorbis music file has been added. Online/offline messaging status has been corrected. The update also makes more minor and less-documented changes including better performance, user interface improvements, and other enhancements such as support for the accelerometer in Adobe Flash Player, as well as improved Skype video calling.
