T-Mobile and Wal-Mart have jointly announced the forthcoming launch of a new Monthly4G prepaid plan on October 16th. The plan, targeted towards people who care more about data and messaging includes 100 voice minutes along with 5GB of data access and unlimited messaging for $30 a month.
Along with the launch of the new rate plan, Wal-Mart will be launching its first 4G enabled phone to take advantage of the new rate plan. While the joint announcement touts Wal-Mart as the main carrier of the new offering, it will also be made available via T-Mobile’s usual sales channels on the same day.
While Wal-Mart currently carries its Family Mobile offering which is powered by T-Mobile as well as postpaid products, this marks the first time that the Monthly4G service plan and offerings will be directly promoted in Wal-Mart locations, with the Monthly4G lineup including a USB modem.
