The product and sales page on the Staples website has confirmed that the Dell Streak 7 Android tablet will receive an over the air update to Android Honeycomb, with the rollout date to be determined. The Dell Streak 5 and 7 were originally released by Dell last year with Android 2.1 with another update to Froyo later that year, though further updates for the tablets have been few and far between since then.
Enterprising hackers have therefore taken it upon themselves to port newer versions of Android to the tablets, such as Gingerbread and Honeycomb in an unofficial capacity until Dell releases the long hoped for Honeycomb updates on an official basis.
