Apple has released the long expected iOS update that is meant to patch a long-standing PDF exploit vulnerability that was recently used to provide a web-based jailbreak for every iOS powered device, including the iPad 2. The updates bump the GSM line to 4.3.4 while the CDMA version is pushed up to 4.2.9. Continue reading for details on the latest tools available for jailbreaking the new version.
Following the release of the patch, a new tethered jailbreak is now available via PwnageTool for all devices except the iPad 2. PwnageTool 4.3.3 will jailbreak the above models and the Redsn0w jailbreak tool has also been updated for iOS 4.3.4. The caveat now is that those that want to remain on an untethered jailbreak should not update until an untethered jailbreak for version 4.3.4 and 4.2.9 is developed, which won’t be for awhile and speculation has increased that development will slow down until the official release of iOS 5 in the fall.
