T-Mobile has begun to send letters to current Sidekick owners detailing the May 31st shutdown of the Danger servers that host both data services and other data such as photos, contact information and email for the Sidekick. The carrier is offering 50% off the post rebate pricing on select Samsung handsets as consolation as well as offering an ETF out for those that are not interested in transitioning to another device.
T-Mobile has also detailed a new portal it has set up to help current Sidekick owners move data from the server to another device or a memory card for preservation in order to migrate to another phone which can be found here.
