Palm has officially announced immediate availability of the unlocked GSM version of the long-awaited Palm Pre 2. As a bonus for registered and established developers (meaning, having an application listed in the App Catalog and in active development) Palm is offering those developers a 50% discount on the smartphone from the suggested $449.99 MSRP to $249.99.
The Palm Pre 2 features a 3.1-inch HVGA resolution multi-touch glass-front display, 16GB of internal storage, GPS support via A-GPS, Exchange support, accelerometer, ambient light and proximity sensors, Wi-Fi radio, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and a 3.5mm headphone jack along with a 5.0 megapixel camera and upgraded 1Ghz processor with 512MB of RAM.

This phone looks great. Does this have the newest os from palm/HP? If it ever comes to sprint my wife would love this phone. I liked the original pre but so many phones have come out since then.
