i guess samsung decided to listen to reason and not microsoft and include a microsd slot instead of making it a non removable internal microsd. Hopefull other manufacturers do the same. I’m on android and probably won’t switch but I would love to try out wp7. I just think att service gives it a bad rep.
Microsoft changed the way memory is addressed in WP7. The slot actually functions in a similar manner to an additonal fixed disk. The operating system does not allow for hot swapping memory cards, so if you want to put a larger capacity card in the phone, you have to turn the phone off, swap the card out then turn it back on so that the phone correctly recognizes the larger card and adds it to the filesystem.
Depending on the phone you can add up to 40GB of space (8GB internal microSDHC+32GB card) or 48GB (16GB internal microSDHC + 32GB card)
