According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Nokia has been found to not violate any of Apple’s claimed patents, with some of Apple’s patents found to be invalid, and some having nothing to do with the case according to ITC investigators. Because of the findings, the investigators will recommend that Nokia not be charged with infringement, however a judge will make the final ruling in the case next February. On the possibility that Nokia is charged with infringement of Apple’s patents in spite of the preliminary evidence discovered, the ITC will move to embargo specific Nokia models from sale in the US. The ITC will now hear Nokia’s infringement countersuit as it follows the initial Apple infringement suit.
