Clearwire has announced the launch of its long awaited WiMax 4G service in New York City as well as Tampa Bay, FL; Hartford and New Haven, CT; and the New Jersey state capital, Trenton. This follows a month of preparation by the service provider and early adopter sales in the aforementioned New York City market. Both Rover and Sprint 4G services are also available in the above markets as of today.
Service in New York covers six counties in North Jersey from Middlesex to Bergen County and the five Boroughs of New York City. In New Brunswick, service extends as far north as Woodbridge and as far south as Monmouth Junction and east to Old Bridge and west to Piscataway. In Trenton, service extends as far north as Princeton Junction and Lawrenceville, east to Hamilton Square, south through White Horse and west to the Delaware River.
Service in Tampa covers Bearss Avenue and as far south as Riverview Drive in Hillsborough County, east to the town of Valrico and west to Clearwater Beach. Service in the Hartford and New Haven markets covers Wolcott, as far south as the town of Stratford, east to the town of Branford and west to Oakville while in Hartford, service extends as far north as Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, as far south as the city of Meriden, east to the town of Manchester, and west to the city of Bristol.
