Clearwire has begun a soft launch early adopter program in the New York City and Los Angeles markets ahead of their official launch in the next month, with service plans and equipment available for purchase in select locations. Dedicated retail locations are in the process of being constructed as well as local employment listings confirming the forthcoming launch of the service. Below is part of the official statement sent by Clearwire representatives regarding the soft launch, which confirms other markets slated for launch this year:
“During this construction phase, owners of CLEAR 4G devices may also experience 4G coverage while traveling to other cities that Clearwire plans to launch commercially later this year, including: San Francisco; Tampa, Miami, and Orlando, Fla.; Nashville, Denver, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Pittsburgh"
A special 3G/4G promotional plan is also being offered for $35 per month for two months before reverting to the normal $55 monthly rate on the standard 12 month agreement.
Now the hard launch, anybody know when Clear is releasing their branded phones?
