Following up on our latest report regarding the forthcoming changes to SERO allowing Android devices on accounts in October, Sprint internal documentation has been acquired, further confirming the changes and placing purchase restrictions on the forthcoming Sprint Samsung Epic 4G for those customers until then, as well as restricting customers on EWD and SWAC plans from purchase until a later date.
Legacy SERO customers that want to upgrade to the device beforehand will have to switch over to the Everything Plus Referral plan and will not be allowed to switch back in October.
As previously reported, current customers under the legacy SERO plans will be able to add Android devices for an additional $10 surcharge beginning on October 1st, along with adding access to messaging and navigation service, with 4G service requiring another $10 surcharge, making the the new monthly rates $40 for Android and BlackBerry devices or $50 for Android+4G devices.
Ok, so does this mean that those of us on “free & clear” plans r out of luck ???
Lmao at this being the only site to cover this.. Good work guys you always have exclusive stuff..
I ditto bottomline’s question… Can those of us still on Free and Clear plans activate an Android phone on Sprint without being forced to change?
Great post. Great site. Amazing exclusive. I can’t wait for 10/1 to get a new phone. Keep up the good work.
I wonder how many SERO users there are left… I feel cool in the exclusively-nerdy sense… if also previously sad that I was being left behind (new mobile OS exclusion)
On top of that.. I notice my normal bill total has changed. I see my NVP discounts have been removed for part of my account. I look at the ” IMPORTANT INFORMATION RELATING TO YOUR SPRINT BILL” and i see this…
