U.S. Cellular has announced that it will launch its variant of the BlackBerry Tour 9650 on Wednesday. The device is identical to the versions launched on Verizon and Sprint earlier this summer with GSM/HSPA support for international roaming.
Hardware specifications consist of a 480 x 360 resolution display, Wi-Fi radio, single-band HSPA support, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, microSDHC expansion slot, 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash and video recorder, speakerphone and 3.5mm headphone jack. Further specifications include built-in GPS support via aGPS and internal dedicated transceiver along with QWERTY keyboard and optical directional pad.
The carrier has also confirmed that it will upgrade the Tour to BlackBerry 6 in the next few months, following RIM’s recent announcement of future availability for the Tour line during the launch of the AT&T-exclusive 9800 Torch BlackBerry slider last week.
Pricing is set at $159.95 after new 2 year agreement and $70 mail-in rebate.
