Sprint-Nextel is expected announce on Monday a new service that will bring movies to the small screen– the extremely small screen that lives in your mobile phone.
For the last 3 years, Sprint has bought some form of mobile TV to Vision-enabled phones, first with MobiTV and then Sprint TV on Power Vision. Now they are set to announce a deal with content vendor MSpot to deliver feature-length movies to Power Vision phones. The movies themselves will be divided into segments since market studies have shown that viewers will most likely not watch an entire movie in just one sitting. The service is expected to cost $6.95 per month. Sprint is promising to bring up to seven new films a week to the service.
