Following up, Samsung has also announced immediate availability of its BONDI Widget SDK for its lineup of high-end featurephones and smart devices based on the BONDI standard for cross-platform widgets.
The SDK is based on the open-source Eclipse development enviroment and will allow for advanced widget development which will allow access to device data such as geolocation information, camera information, data from the address book and the calendar as well as additional data types. Developers will also be able to develop widgets that can tap the media gallery on a device as well as the file system.
The first Samsung device to support the BONDI widget standard will be the forthcoming Wave high-end featurephone which will use the internally developed bada operating system.
