Microsoft has updated its Windows Marketplace for Mobile application with new features for Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1 , chief among them being support for application installs directly to memory cards instead of forcing installations on the device’s flash memory.
In addition, the update also includes the World View feature which allows users to browse and purchase applications from different geographic catalogs from around the world, free app submissions for developers to additional markets without having to pay the $10 submission fee and deep linking support for apps via device and desktop store.
The Marketplace will also reflect new policy changes that now allow for VOIP app submission unless prohibited by the local network operator, with operators that sign a Marketplace deal with Microsoft being able to dictate if they allow or prohibit the use of VoIP apps on their networks,
If your version number isn’t 1.2.1417.0001 you may want to completely uninstall, power cycle, and then reinstall.
My SMT5800 would not update, it didn’t even see the update at all. Relaunched Marketplace multiple times, no update was detected.
