T-Mobile Improves Upgrade Pricing for Current Customers

By Humberto Saabedra on January 27, 2010

T-Mobile has rolled out a new upgrade pricing structure for current customers that want to take advantage of new customer pricing on smart devices.

The upgrade pricing is split in to two tiers:

The Tier 1 “Early Upgrade Discount” requires 1-11 months of continuous service on an individual plan of $29.99 or higher, or a family plan of $49.99 or higher before qualifying for new customer pricing on a new non-smartphone.

The “Early Upgrade Plus” Tier requires 12-24 months of service on an individual plan of $29.99 or higher, or a family plan of at least $49.99 once again with smartphones qualifying for full discount pricing after 12 months.

Qualifying devices eligible for the full discount at the Tier 2 “Early Upgrade Plus Level” are as follows:

  • BlackBerry Pearl 8120
  • BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220
  • BlackBerry Curve 8320
  • BlackBerry Curve 8520
