Internal Verizon documentation has confirmed that the last major version of the Samsung Galaxy S in the Samsung Fascinate will be shipping on September 6th to stores for a launch three days later on September 9th.
The Fascinate will be the last major carrier version of the Samsung Galaxy S series outside of regional carrier variants. The Fascinate will also be the most heavily customized of the Galaxy S variants available with the least amount of internal memory at 512MB supplemented by the microSDHC slot and the 5.0 megapixel camera with 720p video recording and no flash.
In related news, Best Buy has opened up Reward Zone pre-orders for the device, with the pre order promotion opening up to the general public starting on Sunday. Best Buy is also taking steps to ensure that Rewards Zone members that place pre-orders today will receive priority when devices are shipped and launched on Thursday September 9th.
Are they kidding? Did verizon not learn anything from their TP? Whey do they have to cut the memory? Another reason why I’m glad I have sprint.
I preordered one just yesterday. I can’t wait to get it. Personally I don’t need that much memory on my phone.
@mike
Its not about having memory for musi, files etc.. Its about having memory so that the phone runs smoothly and doesn’t lag when your running programs. Hopefully it won’t affect it too much. Hey, maybe it doesn’t affect it too much.
@jj i have the diamond on sprint which doesnt have a sd slot unlike the verizon version.
What are you talking about?? They didn’t cut the memory. Both the Fascinate and the Epic 4G have the same memory at 512MB. They are identical phones with the same onboard 1Ghz processors, 512 memory and 16GB storage…..
