Verizon has launched the Casio G’zOne Type-S.
As we previously
reported, the phone is a more stylish version of the rugged
Type-V with features like Bluetooth, voice dialing, VGA camera with
video recording, and VZ Navigator support with a glossy dark blue
finish. However the phone also has two downgrades aimed at reducing the cost of the phone. Also, in addition to the camera being downgraded to VGA (from the Type-V), the phone lacks EV-DO (and V CAST Video). These changes were made to lower the initial offering price, something often criticized about the Type-V.
The phone is now available online at a cost of
$149.99 with a new 2 year agreement and $50 online discount. It is also
available in Verizon Wireless retail stores.
