Verizon Wireless has begun informing customers that they are increasing their Administrative Charge per line. In doing so, they have materially changed their fees and presented customers under contract with an opportunity to void the contract without a termination fee.
“Beginning March 15, 2007, the monthly Verizon Wireless Administrative Charge will increase from $0.40 to $0.70 per line, and the monthly Verizon Wireless Regulatory Charge will decrease from $0.05 to $0.04 per line. Even after these changes, Verizon Wireless’ combined Administrative and Regulatory Charges are among the lowest in the industry. For information regarding these changes, call 1-888-684-1888. Please consult your Customer Agreement for information about rate changes.”
And, quoting Verizon’s Customer Agreement:
“IF THE CHANGES HAVE A MATERIAL ADVERSE EFFECT ON YOU, HOWEVER, YOU CAN END THE AFFECTED SERVICE, WITHOUT ANY EARLY TERMINATION FEE, JUST BY CALLING US WITHIN 60 DAYS AFTER WE SEND NOTICE OF THE CHANGE.”
