The Saga Continues: Nokia Responds to Qualcomm Litigation

Another legal shot has been fired at Qualcomm by Nokia, continuing the
saga between both companies that we have covered here at PhoneNews.com for
the past few months.

In a press release dated today, Nokia has announced that it has filed
suit against Qualcomm in a district court in Texas regarding the
claimed unauthorized use of six total patents regarding the BREW
application platform and the MediaFLO transmission protocol for mobile
broadcast, specifically patents ensuring Quality of Service, air
interface and patents covering download protocols for BREW.

The suit
seeks unspecified damages and an injunction against Qualcomm. This suit
was filed in response to an April 2nd filing by Qualcomm in the same
district court alleging the unauthorized use of similar download and
execution environment patents held by Qualcomm that are claimed to be
used by Nokia.
