SanDisk has announced the launch of a new line of microSD cards. Known
as SanDisk MobilePremier, the cards also include TrustedFlash DRM for
downloads of premium content offered from participating carriers. The
cards are capable of read/write speeds of 9/10MBps respectively when
used in an SD adapter, card reader, or connected via USB. Two card
sizes will be made available: a 1GB card at an MSRP of $44.99 and a 2GB
card at an MSRP of $69.99 including a full-size SD adapter. The cards
are expected this spring, but no release date was announced.
