Granted, the PEBL isn’t the most popular member of the Motorola family. It’s Motorola’s attempt to re-define the mid-range handset into something that doesn’t look horrible. We’re not sure why the carriers didn’t embrace it more, but T-Mobile did manage to lock onto an exclusive for the device. Hopefully, in giving away a PEBL, we can spread more PEBL awareness, so that future PEBLs can bask in the four-letter-name glory of Motorola.

I am a huge motorola fan. I have owned a pebl for 2.5 years now. I honestly have been waiting with anticipation for the next generation to come out, but until then will use the one I have. I have never had any problems or malfunctions with my pebl, and will continue to buy them.
The PEBL U9 has been available for awhile now, but an American version is not likely (the U9 lacks UMTS 1700/850/1900, so 3G would not work here). It still supports GSM 850/1900, so it would work the same on T-Mobile or AT&T as the original PEBL.
