Verizon Wireless today released the Pantech PN-820. The PN-820 is Pantech’s first U.S. Smartphone. Like all other Pantech devices sold on Verizon, the device is branded under the Verizon Wireless name, and not Pantech’s brand.
The PN-820 is the first flip EV-DO smartphone in the U.S. and is also the first CDMA smartphone to include support for VZ Navigator. VZ Navigator uses gpsOne, removing the need for an external/Bluetooth GPS unit. It also features a 1.3 megapixel camera and a miniSD card slot.
However, like all other smart devices on Verizon, Verizon continues to charge a minimum $40 for data on an existing plan. The PN-820 will retail for $99.99 after rebate with new two-year agreement.
