During the wider Deutsche Telekom MWC conference this morning, T-Mobile CTO Cole Broadman confirmed that the conglomerate’s US division will be launching the HTC HD2 as a carrier exclusive and has confirmed preliminary details regarding its 21Mbps HSPA+ rollout.
The HTC HD2 as configured by T-Mobile will include access to Blockbuster On Demand, access to Barnes & Noble’s ebook store via dedicated e reader application and digital copies of Transformers/Revenge of the Fallen included on the bundled microSD card. This confirms previous speculation regarding the device, and the carrier has also opened a dedicated page for the HD2.
T-Mobile’s HSPA+ rollout will be branded webConnect Rocket and will officially launch next month with the release of a new USB modem that supports the increased throughput, with the rollout focused on coastal areas. Philadelphia is currently the first test market for the HSPA+ upgrade and has been the test bed for the carrier since September of last year.
