One response to “Dish Network Makes (Slightly Higher) Counter Offer for Clearwire”

Also, Clearwire declined to comment further about the DISH offer when contacted by PhoneNews.com.

It’s pretty obvious that DISH would leverage Clearwire wholesale LTE spectrum/access in tandem with its own planned LTE network, creating a multi-carrier semi-MVNO deployment, patchworking multiple LTE grids together based on price.

Still, the timing indicates that this was a poison pill, no different than the whole potential for Sprint to counterbid up T-Mobile for MetroPCS. The difference here, is DISH actually pulled the trigger. Question is, how far will DISH go to actually act on it… and they may go as far as federal court to block the planned merger, claiming collusion along the way.
