Ampd Mobile is facing a $100,000 fine levied against them by the FCC.
According to the report filed by the commission, the company failed to
provide adequate protection for sensitive customer information such as
names, addresses, social security numbers and other personal
information. Ampd Mobile addressed a letter to the FCC in February
stating its internal procedures did protect customer information, but
did not elaborate on specific measures taken. The FCC has given the
company 30 days to respond to the fine, or request a lower fine. So
far, Ampd has not commented on any issues related to this case.
